Kookaburra

I love these majestic birds.   We see them every morning on our walk.

Ducks on the pond

Spring has sprung and this family of Australian Wood Ducks were out for their morning forage.

Rainbow Bee-eater

On our walk this morning we were surprised to see this beautiful bright coloured bird which upon looking up we find out that it is a Rainbow Bee-eater, apparently quite common even though neither of us has seen one before.

The bird life around our new location at Wakerley is fantastic. I will share more soon

Female red backed Kingfisher

Eileen and I have been surprised by the numbers of these we have seen during Spring and the fact that be early in the year there aren't any to be seen.

The Beast

We had a guided tour of this beautifully designed and superbly finished rig.  It had everything that opens and shuts and was virtually self-sufficient.

It was in this unit that we first saw a vaccume toilet and how it worked.  We decided that it would be better than our waste tank unit and that we would look into getting one for our home.

Gray Morph

This Eastern Reef Egret was doing a spot of fishing while catching a few morning rays.
